1. Information We Collect

Momena collects and stores the following information:

  • Personal information about your family members (names, birthdates, email addresses, photos)
  • Memories including photos, videos, notes, and dates
  • Calendar events with associated media and location data
  • Health data including height, weight, temperature, sleep records, and symptoms

By default, this data is stored locally on your device. Momena also keeps a free safety-net backup: when iCloud is available, an encrypted copy of your latest app data is automatically uploaded to and stored in your personal iCloud account so it can be restored if your device is lost or replaced. Backup history with multiple versions is a subscription feature.

2. Data Storage and Security

  • All sensitive data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption
  • Encryption keys are stored securely in iOS Keychain
  • Data is protected by iOS Data Protection API
  • We do not operate our own cloud storage or backup servers for your personal data
  • Local storage and on-device usage do not require a subscription
  • If you choose to enable iCloud Backup, your data may be transmitted to and stored in Apple's iCloud services under your Apple ID
  • You can export backup files locally at your discretion

3. Data Usage

  • Your data is used solely within the app to provide family memory management and health tracking features
  • We do not share or sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising or tracking purposes
  • Optional anonymous usage statistics: only if you explicitly opt in (off by default), Momena sends anonymous usage statistics β€” which features are used, never your content, photos, health data, or any personal information β€” to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused, EU-hosted service. You can turn this off at any time in Settings
  • When iCloud backups are made, Apple processes and stores the backup in your iCloud account to provide backup/restore functionality
  • Subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store; we do not receive your payment details

4. iCloud Backup

Momena supports two backup approaches:

  • On-device (local): available to everyone, no subscription required
  • iCloud Backup: a free automatic safety-net backup keeps an encrypted copy of your most recent backup in your personal iCloud account; backup history with multiple versions requires an active subscription

iCloud backups are encrypted by Momena before upload and stored in your private iCloud database so you can restore them (for example, when you change devices).

Apple's handling of data in iCloud is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all your data stored in the app
  • Export your data at any time
  • Delete all your data through the app settings
  • Control backup and restore operations

6. Children's Privacy

Momena is designed for families to manage their memories. We do not collect any information from children directly, and all data management is controlled by the device owner. If iCloud Backup is enabled, data may be stored in the device owner's iCloud account.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
